Day before the Super Bowl

So very glad we got out of here for a week.. the constant Super Bowl hype is making me nervous!!!
Our vacation.. Absolutely splendid.. Flight was on time and non-stop.. Can't beat that.. This is only the second time we used a tour and it does take all the worry out of traveling.. A bit cloudy when we landed in Cancun, but at 80 degrees, who cares. After customs, met by Apple tour rep and on to the bus. Passengers from the plane are going anywhere along the 80 mile Riviera Maya coast, so good planning by the tour and we had only 2 stops before our resort.. All the resorts in Mexico are open-air, so walking into the lobby is like a tropical garden.. never snows there!! I think our biggest reason to go back time and again to this area, other the sun, is the Mexican people.. They are wonderful, always smiling and helpful and actually seem glad we're visiting.. We've been to places that didn't give that feeling.. For breakfast and dinner our server was Carlos..after meeting him, we purposely sat in his section for a week.. Not great with English, he proceeded to teach me Spanish all week!! I learned "uno mas cervaso por favor".. one more beer, please!! Came in handy all week :+) Our room was immaculate.. lots of Mexican tile.. opening onto a little patio.. closest room to the beach and swimming pool.. Perfect!!!
After getting in late afternoon, unpacked, relaxed at the beach bar and had dinner.. Wide variety of buffet style options.. everynight was a different theme, but all was beautifully presented, hot, and yummy!! Bed by 9:30!! Must be getting old :=) More tomorrow..

  1. Hi, Pat. Saw you on AARP and thought I'd check out your blog. Mexico sounds great. I'm 70 also and still going strong. I write a travel blog, http://www.boomertravelblog.com. I'm in Italy right now. Boyd
