My constitution must still be pretty strong.. Cause Mexican food, margueritas and I get along just fine :=) Went to the memorial service for the Mom of one of our friends yesterday.. She was 93 and a sweetheart til the very end.. Afterwards needed to do something (maybe just a reminder that we still can!), and hubby just wanted to get home and into his sweats... Yuck.. so I hitched a ride with daughter-in-law T and grandson C to Wal-Mart.. Yea!! I was good and didn't buy much.. a new visor for golf and a new lipstick.. Revlon ColorStay Overtime!! it's a 2-part application and the only lipstick I've found that actually LASTS! Wonderful!! Then on to our local Mexican restaurant Patrons, the best food around.. All their booths have ceramic backs that were hand-painted in Mexico by some relatives.. very authentic and best margueritas ever..
I do watch some TV that I shouldn't admit to :=) On WE there's a show about Joan Rivers moving in with her daughter Melissa..What a train wreck!! I've already warned my daughter not to watch, as some day, that could be her!!!I've been on the other end as my Mom lived with us for 35 years!! One day, soon after my Mom moved in, I was at work and she rearranged my furniture!!.. I so felt Melissa's pain when, in an earlier episode, she came home from work, and Joan had given all her living room furniture to charity and bought her new stuff!!! OMG.. It was awful!! And pretty funny when it happens to someone else...
All in all, sounds like a good day! Honoring a special friend, pampering yourself and eating good food! :-)
ReplyDeleteI think it's kind of a mom thing--to just kind of take over. I think it's because mom's want to make their kids happy. Or maybe they just think they know best!! Ha Ha! I try hard to be considerate and live by the "golden rule". And yet both of my daughter-in-laws dislike me though I've tried so hard. My daughters are forced to love me so I don't have any worries there!! My Son #4 has promised to take care of me when I'm old and has made a solemn vow to take me out to WalMart and push me around in a wheelchair. Giggle!! This was his own idea!! Sweet little guy!! :-)
Thanks.. it probably is a mom thing!! Sometimes hard to figure in-laws.. Ours are both super-fine!! It's our kids who are a pain in the neck.. Our oldest son (not married) in aspen said if we ever show up on his front porch with suitcases.. he's out the back.. Our daughter in St Louis threatened to move and not tell us where!! Hope they were both kidding! Our daughter-in-law has always welcomed us to move in with them and our son-in-law is the dearest person.... Go figure!!
