Thinking of Ireland

Would you believe more snow this weekend!! Its our never-ending winter.. Our friends in Syracuse got 18" over the weekend.. Couldn't deal with that..
Was hoping I could trace some of my Irish ancestry before we went over there, but Bill, who has ancestry.com , hasn't come up with anything :=( According to family history, my Dad's family came from County Cork, but so far, no luck.. Maybe I should join and give it a try..
Disappointed that we're not going to St Louis to see J and A. They don't often have a free weekend, so will have to plan another trip.. When they lived in Chicago, A put his name on the Cubs season ticket waiting list, and this winter he was notified he could get tickets.. Now they're in St Louis, but he's still getting them.. So, I foresee lots of weekends for them in Chicago!! That is a real happening there in the summer!!
Pulling out clothes to plan our packing.. Need to take smaller bags as the car they've rented over there has very limited trunk space.. We did survive 2 weeks in Paris with 2 carry-ons, but it was tough.. Lots of rinsing going on :=).. You'd walk down the hall at our hotel, and everyone had wet laundry hanging in their bathrooms!! It was like a refuge camp..
I really can't believe that the news is again talking about the Icelandic volcano!!! The big one is rumbling.. the little one was the one that erupted last year and closed European airspace.. While we were there, all the talk was about the possibility of the big one erupting, and really creating havoc.. so, wonderful to see the big one awakening!! NOT!!! Well, we'll have a roof over our head at the worst, until mid-April.. That's how long our friends have rented their cottage.. Won't even think about that!!
