Dogs

We've had dogs all our life.. they come and go thru the years..each kid had their favorite.. never settled on one kind, more like whatever was available when we decided to get another one.. Right now, we have 2 collies.. love them dearly, but their coat is a constant battle.. soft fluffy undercoat that mats and sheds so easily.. Thinking about this as our son and family are dealing with their 12 year old golden retreiver, who has been going downhill so rapidly these last few days.. I think that breed is predisposed to hip dysplasia, and he is suffering.. They're going to the vets tonight and it might be nearing the end.. So very sad..
Going thru our expenses last year, our biggest expense was our trip to Paris (and subsequent stranding).. It was so worth it tho!! Second biggest was the dogs!! Our older collie needed extensive dental work, my mothers 11 year old cockapoo (inherited when she passed almost 3 years ago) also needed extensive dental work, then we had to put him down anyway!! Hoping this year is a little calmer!!
Departing tomorrow.. weather forecast for Playa del Carmen is between 75 and 85 and no rain!!! Don't know if i can post while away, we'll see..
