Long ago given up going out for Valentines Day.. Gonna cook our Omaha steaks (Christmas present from our daughter.. she does know us!) and bottle of wine..
Learned a lot when I worked as a hostess for a near-by restaurant.. First, a special menu is usually put in place for Valentines Day.. which means not the usual variety and kinda over-priced.. Secondly, I said before I was at least 3 times as old as the rest of them, and they'd tell me everything!! What an education :=) Most of the guys HATED Valentines Day.. It put a tremendous amount of pressure on them to do something special for whoever they happened to be dating at the time, more commitment than most were willing to make.. Some guys actually broke up with their latest girlfriend so they wouldn't have to commit!! Ha Ha.. thought that was kinda eye-opening!!
Mondays, I pick up our grandson after pre-school.. We usually go to the grocery store.. he loves the kids play area there!! It's run so very well.. sign-in, sign-out.. well-qualified child care (they all know his name) and great games to play.. They claim its free, but after my meandering around the store.. it usually costs $60 to $70/hour!!! Will buy hubby's Valentine and bottle of wine!! He always buys me that heart-shaped box of Whitmans and proceeds to eat it all!! Married too long :=)
Well, my Sweetie Pie was away for valentines day so I had some fried rice for supper. And five cats and two dogs to commiserate with.
